Do you offer sample edits?

Yes! I offer free 1,000 word sample edits for copyediting, and free 3,000 word sample edits for manuscript critiques and developmental editing.

What style guide do you use?

The Chicago Manual of Style.

Do you use contracts?

Yes, I do use contracts. I also create proposals for every new project I take on. They will give an overview of the work I’ll be completing, the proposed timeline, the proposed cost, and anything else relevant to the project.

I will send over the proposal first for you to review, and then I will send over the official contract once the details are worked out.

Do you require a deposit?

I require a $150.00 USD deposit upon booking. This goes toward the total cost of the project.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, I am now offering payment plans! The total cost of the edit can be broken up so you can pay over the course of 3-4 months.

Do you edit all genres?

Fantasy, romance, speculative fiction, and science fiction are the best fit for me. Erotica, religious fiction, and creative nonfiction (such as memoir) are not a good fit for me.

I do not edit any manuscripts with graphic descriptions of self-harm or suicide.

What is your editorial process?

I only work with Microsoft Word documents because I prefer their Track Changes software. I will perform three passes at minimum and provide weekly updates until I return your final deliverables.

What is your turnaround time?

Turnaround time is dependent on my current schedule and the specifics of the project, but on average, I deliver most edits within six weeks!
